Got a windy/colicky baby who is on Closer to nature bottles that hve anti-colic valve in them. Is it worthwhile trying Dr Brown bottles? Or are they much the same?
thanks

closer to nature are fab as are the MAM ultra vent. I hav'nt used dr browns as they look expensive and hard to clean.

what does MAM stand for?

we use mam as ds hated the closer to nature bottles. we've never had any colic at all

You may want to try out the Haberman feeder but it is expensive and a bit fiddly. It's the one that Tracey Hogg (the original and much missed original Baby Whisperer) recommended all the time in her tv show. You can buy it from Athrodax Healthcare - they have a website.

Presume you've tried the Infacol/ Colief route? Might not be the bottles at all. Also if you're on "newborn" teat, try the next flow size up. A faster flow might make him/ her suck less hard and take in less air.

Well, not to worry you, but apparently baby bottles leach toxic chemicals!

skerriesmum - i think you need to rephrase your post. some bottles can contain BISPHENOL A which MAY be toxic but not all bottles contain this chemical and there is no definitive proof about its effects. please do not scare-monger

PuppyMonkey · 14/02/2008 19:41

LOL Skerriesmum... "not to worry you"... fnar!

We use closer to nature bottles and never had any probs. And if the bottles are leaching toxic chemicals, well i haven't noticed any symptoms yet.

I used Dr browns, ds was fine on them. It really helped his colic - but I also used to add dentinox to his feed as well. They aren't hard to clean as they come with a little brush for the fiddly bits!
