He's 19m, bf a lot in the night and usually in the day, maybe once or twice.
His comfort thing is to stick his hand in my bra (fine) and fiddle about with my nipples (really not fine). In the day this is ok, I can distract him, but it's driving me bonkers in the night. We end up almost fighting in the bed, me wrapping bedding around myself and him writhing and fussing to locate my nipples.
I'm laughing reading this but honestly, it irritates me to hell.
Don't want to stop bf though.

does he share you bed then?

cadelaide · 09/02/2008 23:34

He goes to bed in his cot and then when he wakes, any time between midnight and 5am, I haul him into our bed and there he stays.

surely be easier to put him back in his cot so you get good nights kip?

You need to try and give him something else to twiddle. If my DS starts twiddling my nippls I hand him his dummy to twiddle.

Tried giving him a spare dummy last night trixy, it helped a bit.
Now he's atrted plundering my bra in the day, he sort of snakes his hand in and hoiks one out.
Funny really

My DS1 used to do what I called "stunt nursing". When feeding from one boob he would twist and turn his body so he could fiddle with the nipple and boob on the other side. Drove me mad too. Stopped at some point but I can't remember when exactly. I posted on MN at the time and someone suggested that it's actually the baby's way of getting the letdown to be quicker / stronger because of the nipple stim on the other side ...
