Is this annoying or am I being oversensitive/stupid/petty?

...Just bought some TT food pots ready to start weaning DD in a month or so and it says:

''Weaning is an important time in baby's development: it's when a baby moves from just milk to a more balanced and varied diet''

I hate the way they make milk sound inferior for a baby and insinuate that it is not balanced: breast milk could not be more balanced if it tried. Far more ''balanced'' than we could make solid food, surely.

And apparently weaning starts at 4 months. Not for all babies it doesn't.

it is marketing speak. Don't let it annoy you. People in marketing have long hours to fill making up meaningless drivel you know.

I know breast milk tastes different depending on what you eat etc. But at the end of the day, milk and liquid is not really varied is it? One of my friends really did not wean well (didn't do it early either), and her 18 month old doesn't eat lumps and certainly could not go out for lunch somewhere and eat whatever was on the menu. I guess it's all about balance

A baby doesn't need variety surely, (not before 6 months anyway).

Wasn't so much surprised at that, but more the balanced bit-like BM isn't nutritionally enough. But it is.

It would be better if it said 'from just milk to a balanced and more varied diet' because weaning is about being more varied and we still want it to be balanced.

But yes you are right it isn't good.

Thankyou!!
