Becoming a breast feeding supporter/counsellor

I was wondering about people's experiences with training to do this, and the best route to take - I had wonderful support from my mum and best friend, fed my DD until 18 months and still going strong with DS at 7 months. Love it, love it, love it, and want to share the joy with others . But as I was lucky with babies and friends and families, I never really made much use of LLL, NCT helplines etc so don't really feel I know where to start. Any advice very welcome...

Hi latchmeregirl

My HV asked me if I wanted to get involved with a group who were training to be support counsellors through LaLeche. Might be worth a try asking your HV if there is anything similar in your area.
