Pregnant, breastfeeding and DD (15 mths) has suddenly started to poo five times a day - is this colostrum

ARRRGGH, so I can't get down on the floor easily to change her and she's started doing multiple poops a day. I'm only 13 weeks (apparently we are sort of guessing from the scan) but huge already and I noticed my milk had gone yellow this morning.

DD thinks the change is great, is delightedly feeding six times a day again

However the end results are copious and while she's on solids so at least it's not just liquid it's weird having her poop all the time like she did when she was a newborn.

Can anyone confirm this is normal when tandem feeding?

Hiya

Don't know the answer to this question I'm afraid, but did want to suggest from your other post about getting big so quickly, that perhaps this baby could be the twin (albeit separate sac etc) of the baby you miscarried...would explain a lot wouldn't it...or tell me if I'm talking total bollocks.....

You are talking total bollocks . Nah can't be, I had a scan, empty nest!

This is just the one, no signs of two. Unless it was hiding and v small. But doubt it. Won't find out for another seven weeks anyway but I can only hear one rapid heartbeat and my own of course.

Ahh, ok t'was just a thought....

Anyway, hope someone comes along to answer your question about the tandem feeding....fwiw though, DS averages three poos a day and he's on solids...but then again, if she's feeding so frequently, that would be enough to give any baby more poos even if the mum wasn't pg....iyswim?

whomovedmychocolate · 26/01/2008 22:23

Nope, different sort of poo. She normally does one a day - two at most. Today it was every two hours. What are you feeding your DS? Bran flakes?

She's mad for milk today for some reason, I suspect she's being weird because MiL is still here. I don't blame her, I quite like saying 'oh do you want to feed, let's go upstairs and have a cuddle' and buggering off for an hour at a time
