Teats compatible with Avent bottles? What teat best for bottle refusenik?

My DD2 is 17 weeks and for the last week has flatly refused to take a bottle of EBM (she would happily take one every now and again before this). I feel really restricted by this as can no longer go out in the evening for a couple of hours.

I have been thinking about trying some different teats e.g. a latex one or maybe a Nuk as she is used to their dummies. However I'm not keen to fork out on a second set of bottles. What other teats could I use with the Avent bottles? If the answer is 'none', can anyone recommend a bottle/ teat system for a bottle refuser? (Thanks to Chipmonkey for her suggestion of a NaturalLatch teat but I could do with several to try)

you can use pretty much any wide neck teat

I tried boots own and tommee tippee before I found mam which are very soft and worked on my bottle refuser

MAM Ultivent teats are compatible with Avent bottles. DD was also a refusnik. she took to these but I think it was more out of desperation from her than design. I gave a friend with tiny newborn twins a couple spares. Her son got on better with these than with teh avent ones.

ha! the shops should really have a selection out so you can tweak them quizzically and thoughtfully... maybe offer them to DH for his opinion !

Tommee Tippee old teats fit, but the closer to nature ones don't

I had the same problem as ds2 wouldn't feed using Avent teats. The NUK teats do fit the Avent bottles.

Thanks, have tried MAM teats over the weekend with no success- she gets very distressed at the mere sight of the bottle.

Have a couple more teats to try but not sure where to go from here if that doesn't work!

I think if you keep persevering with one teat it will eventually work. My dd screamed like she was being murdered but then just one day (about two weeks later) she just drank a whole bottle.

They are funny little people !
