I have just realised that i must be a MAJOR "lentil weaver"

I even have my kids playing with kitchen utensils, wooden toys, instruments, leather coaster! as well as...
recycling,
knitting,
repairing clothes with sewing machine,
was considering buying a mooncup for when i do eventually need one,
exc BFing,
baby wearing,
Attachment parenting,
co-sleeping,
BLW,
Baby massage and Yoga,
Amber for teething...

the list goes on...
OMG the only thing i do wrong under this title is Iron!

bunnyhunny · 23/01/2008 22:56

I knew it really, but I was in denial

prettylovebird · 23/01/2008 23:28

Tis related to tofu welding, but that is more hardcore.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/01/2008 08:01

surely it's impossible to be a lentil weaver AND be on MN 23 hours a day?

duchesse · 24/01/2008 08:06

at fishie's "lanky and reproachful" veg. Mine too- at least the ones I can see through the weeds self-seeded plants by then.

cmotdibbler · 24/01/2008 08:42

What we need is one of those womens (womyns ?) magazine quizzes here - rate your Lentil weaveriness.
I'm scoring well - bf, use a sling, pick up when crying, buy organic veg box, use washable nappies, read Guardian, wouldn't know a jar of babyfood if it hit me, and would be using a Mooncup if I wasn't bfing and had a Mirena coil. Recycle, Freecycle, and made lentil curry only yesterday.
Would wearing Merrells or walking sandals whenever I can get away with it count ?
However - am wearing a v nice bra, and def no elephant bum leggings. Refuse to grow own veg (despite pressure from fully lentil weaving parents who do self sufficency), and drive.

Grand score: 102

Do you lose lentil points if you allow your 4 year old to spend two hours a day online playing Sega?

And how many lentil points would I get for having a 2 year old who's so breast obsessed he's made our labrador lactate by fiddling with her nipples?

terramum · 24/01/2008 09:53

nah - games are educational - developing fine motor skills, hand eye co-ordination, typing skills etc not to mention familiarity with technology & if online then they're socialising as well

LOL at the lactating lab

prettylovebird · 24/01/2008 10:04

terramum that is an excellent quiz, ill be off to do that when dd gives me the chance as shes on the nork as usual

terramum · 24/01/2008 10:07

My score = 120 Super Nutty, Ultra-Crunchy Granola Earth Mama! ...it gets higher every time I do the test LOL.....maybe I should learn to knit so I can actually do something with the lentils?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/01/2008 10:10

LOL sabire!
our kids sound remarkably similar!

sherazade · 24/01/2008 11:47

i must be a lentil weaver too then.
don't forget, lentil weavers pottyt rain their newborns.
I'm potty training my 12 month old.
i co sleep, breastfeed, wore/wear in sling, cook from scratch organic where possible and where a manky bravado bra which is going grey, also wear birkenstocks, with socks sometimes, wow never knew this was a whole cult i just do what i do. too lazy to put the smiley *

anabelish · 07/01/2011 10:25

love this thread! found it searching EC info for when i drop my 3rd later this month. of course, i will immediately scoop him up into the home-made sling (with convenient nork-slot for BF-ing) that i've been wearing since the last one climbed out and continue digging over the allotment!

Porcelain · 07/01/2011 14:04
  1. Have ordered a copy of The Red Tent, and am working on a knitting pattern for a womb shaped porridge basket.
mawbroon · 07/01/2011 14:36

Phew, I have always maintained that despite some LW tendancies, I am not a full blown LW.

I only scored 79 which probably means I would think about it, might even buy the lentils, but they would sit in the cupboard cos I never got round to weaving them Grin

figcake · 07/01/2011 14:42

I an def one too in that case, although I would NEVER wear socks with my Scholls (not Birkies) or b/f a friend's child

EauRouge · 07/01/2011 14:46

I scored 82 but I suspect I will have points deducted once I admit that many of my parenting decisions are based on how lazy and poor I am rather than for more noble reasons Grin

mrsgordonfreeman · 07/01/2011 15:46

On paper I might weave the odd lentil. I do use a sling, co sleep, BLW and bf my one year old, use reusable nappies and sanitary towels, fully paid up member of BFN...

But I also vaccinate, use only evidence based medicine, wax regularly and eat remarkably few vegetables.

67, pretty crispy.

nannyl · 07/01/2011 22:06

i scored 81

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 07/01/2011 22:36

I'm not as lentil weavy as I'd been led to believe...118!

But I can point you in the direction of ec info if you want...
