Looking for advice... DD seems to be taking about 750-900 ml of formula a day instead of the recommended 600! This seems like going over by quite a lot and I'm worried about this becoming a habit or that I am somehow at fault.
She was EBF until 6 months, then I had to go on medication for something that made it unsafe to continue so we slowly introduced FF. This was alongside the start of weaning.
She currently eats 2 meals a day and it never seems like she is eating much but her poo would suggest she is at least getting some food in during the day.
The trouble is I feel like we're going backwards. Before this we had cut out the dream feed and she was sleeping through the night for months (7ish-530ish). She may stir here and there but never a full get her out the crib, soothe, etc and NEVER a feed.
Now she's wanting to eat 2-3x in the night again like she's a newborn! But surely she doesn't need the extra milk? DH and I have been giving in because milk seems like the ONLY thing that will settle her sudden night wakings.
But now seeing the recommend milk being basically 1-2 bottles less a day than she is taking is making me seriously anxious and upset. I don't want to go backwards and more importantly don't want to hurt her somehow by over feeding?
Have I naively thought if she's not hungry she won't take the milk? Even bottle feeds during the day she makes it very clear when she's done and rarely finishes a whole one, is it possible we even CAN be over feeding??
Should I just offer less ml per feed if she insists on feeding so frequently? (She will go 2.5-3 hrs between feeds during the day)
Do you think it's just a phase - ie growth spurt, teething??
Please help! Freaking out!
