Tandem breastfeeding, experiences, suggestions, should I try and wean?

Hello,

I didn't plan on it, but here I am with a 2year old who is still breastfed and also 6 months pregnant. I've bern working on weaning DD, but not with much success. I'd hoped she might self wean, but at 6 months now I don't think it'll happen. I'm wondering if I'm causing myself more stress than just accepting tandem breastfeeding. Would love to hear any experiences, good or bad, of tandem nursing!

Thanks

I've been feeding my younger two in tandem for nearly 18 months now, similar age gap. The first two weeks were HARD and I find feeding them at the same time difficult especially now they're older. But I wouldnt do a thing differently - its been magical tbh, the bond they have is incredible and there's never been the faintest hint of conflict or jealously. Really really helped my middle daughter adjust to her new sister and helped her feel secure and confident in our bond.

You might love a weaning storybook called "Booby Moon". There's a reading of it on YouTube. And if you do end up tandem feeding, there's also "Booby Moon with Two" specifically for weaning tandem fed toddlers.
