... this may sound stupid, but I'm guessing the valve on the teat should be facing away from the baby when he drinks? As in it will not be touching any milk during the feed?

I think its supposed to be at the top i.e. where you can see it

puffling · 09/01/2008 19:51

DD has used these for 2 years and where the valve is positioned has never entered my mind. Should it have?

Chardonnay1966 · 09/01/2008 20:43

I thought the very same Puffling! Never understood what it was supposed to do but ds2 has never complained or got too windy!

Ledodgy · 09/01/2008 20:48

What valve? I gave ds expressed milk in one of these last night and didn't even notice it had valve! Do you have to do anything with it or is it just there?

what valve?
we use these and I have no idea what you are talking about!
on that basis, I'd say it doesn't matter where it faces

Ledodgy · 09/01/2008 20:52

Phew at least it's not just me.

marshabourbon · 10/01/2008 16:52

this came up on another website I use, someone actually phoned tomee tippee and they said to put the valve at the top.

Norfolkbumpkin · 10/01/2008 17:53

Oops, I never twigged that you were supposed to hold the bottle a certain way. It was probably in the leaflet or on the box, but in my new mum fog I didn't see it.

saltcod · 11/01/2008 13:08

Pillock & Ledodgy - it's just a small hole on the edge of the teat...

cazboldy · 11/01/2008 21:59

I held them at the top when dd was tiny, but now she holds them herself and they are wherever!
