kellymom site says don't let them go past 4 hrs between feeds "in the early weeks" - how many weeks count as "early"?! She normally sleeps no more than 3-4hrs but does one 6hr stretch at night.

Needless to say I've had different advice from EVERYWHERE - just interested to see what mumsnetters think!

thanks inzidoodle

she's only just started to do this - side effect seems to be that she is doubly cranky/hungry during the day - but the sleep is worth it!

just worried re weight gain etc

Personally I would not let her go more than 4hrs in the day but at night would leave her!

Tbh my lo was feeding every 1-2 hours in the first few weeks....thought I was never going to make it off the sofa....

my dd slept 7-7.5 hours at 5 weeks (then woke for a feed and went back to sleep for another hour or so) Her weight gain was normal but she wasnt cranky during day (tho very docile baby anyway) Its up to you - just do what feels right for you and your baby - seems you would rather have sleep and deal with slightly cranky baby!

If bf seems well established and otherwise going well, I would leave her. It will probably change again soon anyway...
