Replace a couple of feeds, gradually keep replacing, not to quick or you could be ending up with breasts full of milk. If baby not feeding you won't produce milk so you should be able to do it reasonably quick. I would start with day feeds, carryon feeding in the morning and at night to start with. Then you will know when ready to take next step and good luck.

Will she already take a bottle smiling? If so then you can either phase out bfing as BITCAT says or you can just stop, switch to formula, and express to relieve pressure, take ibruprofen, use cabbage leaves etc.

Just out of interest how come you are stopping when you've got this far?! Well done too for bfing for 4 weeks.

thanks of advice!

laundry lover, decided to stop as i have another boy who i actually fed 4 6mths, just feel husband and i want to share the load, don't want the hassle of expressing and my daughter is suffering with wind, reflux and colic, so bottles are easier for giving gaviscon i think non stop BF through the nightis making me knackered when also trying to look after energetic 2 half yr old!!!!! will continue morm and bedtime BF

my god i forget what hard work a new born is!!!! my son was amodel baby in a great routine from word go, not so easy this time round!!!!

Yes they are all so different eh?

My second was easier than my first but yours sound the other way round.

I'm glad that you are going to carry on with mixed feeding though. You know you can always increase the bfing then when things settle down as I'm sure they will. I mixed fed DD2 from 6 weeks (bottle in the evenings) but coslept and did night feeds as found it easier.

Good luck!
