I am a few weeks into breastfeeding my newborn and am going through a lot of chocolate etc as I constantly feel hungry. I am craving sweet treats but concerned I don't want to end up the size of a house. Does anyone have any good tips/recipes for tasty treats to keep me going whilst being a bit healthier please or at least not have as many calories in them? Thanks

Eat protein. Boiled egg, yogurt. Sugar makes you want more sugar, esp when breastfeeding, your blood sugar will be on a rollercoaster

I had more extra meals
So for example 2 breakfasts
And/or decent sandwich mid morning such as sliced beef on seeded bread with real butter.
I was constantly hungry.
I did have sugary treats but I also had good substantial snacks with added protein which I needed to satisfy me.
My mum made me a type of biscuit cake with dark chocolate and lots of dark dried fruits - that was filling with some healthier ingredients.
Also I had things like full fat Greek yogurt, bigger portions of good cheddar, and fruit juices that I normally avoid due to high calories.

isotonic drinks good for hydration when breastfeeding and always eat a good hot meal.It helps fill you up,you eat less crap.Protein is good eggs for breakfast.

Dinners with plenty veg and good protein .So stews ,cottage pie, roast dinner or just meat mash with steamed veg.

Tuna crackers a nice snack or lunch mix can tuna with may with a bit of lemon spread on crackers.

For sweet treats that isn't chocolate, I eat nakd bars and kind bars. We buy them in bulk from Amazon as DH loves them too.

In the evening I always make a huge bowl of porridge. It fills me up and you can add honey or maple syrup or fruit for sweetness. If I don't have porridge I can easily polish off a packet of biscuits or a family sized bar of chocolate.
