Slipping off latch and not satisfied after feeds

I have a 13 week old daughter ..breastfeeding hasn’t been very smooth but because she’s been gaining weight along her birth percentile my health visitor etc haven’t been concerned. She must be getting enough milk to gain weight but I feel like every feed is hard work and she doesn’t seem satisfied after ..she never feeds to sleep. She just gets frustrated and eventually rejects the breast and I rock her to sleep instead.

So things that happen:

  • she latches deeply but slips back to a shallow latch or comes off and wants back on right away …over and over again
  • sometimes when she comes off she kind of pulls back on my nipple and pops it out her mouth
  • I can sometimes keep her on if I do a breast compression through the whole feed
  • she hits my breast with her arm (I think to stimulate milk flow?)
  • she just doesn’t seem happy at the breast during or content after

I fed my previous daughter for 8 mths and she had colic but no issue actually feeding.

I’ve had my latch checked and had her checked by an ENT consultant for tongue tie. She does have a lip tie but I don’t think anyone treats this especially if she’s gaining weight.

Any ideas? My gut says structural issue like the lip tie or low / slow milk but when I squeeze it spurts out halfway across the room! Maybe let down is too fast but no coughing or spluttering and I don’t feel engorged
