Hungry baby - 5 weeks today, and already on 5-6oz feeds!

Can someone help me with this? My DS is 5 weeks old today, and has been on 5-6 oz feeds for the last few days. He's demanding food every 2-3 hours, and it seems like he's eating a massive amount of food. 9 bottles seems like a lot for such a small baby.

He's also pretty windy - not colic or anything, but I was thinking of trying him on other milks. Waiting for the HV to get back to me, but I was looking at Cow and Gate comfort.

Random advice on this would be appreciated - also, suggestions on how to get him used to waiting 3 hours for a feed would be much appreciated!!

Sorry for babbling.

Thanks

He knows what he needs, he's still quite young and things will even out soon. Nine bottles is fine in 24 hours if he wants it. It will be a matter of a few weeks for him to strecth to 3 hours for a feed and also I think the wind will pass as well. As long as he's happy and healthy just take each day as it comes.

he may well be having a growth spurt, they do at around 6 weeks-ish.
like nannynz says, he knows what he needs so go with it. he'll settle down eventually.

Wow, really? I can't believe how much formula he's going through, it's incredible!

Was wondering if a hungry baby formula would be better, or something like cow and gate comfort.. hmm...
