see my thread here for anyone who has advice on how to prevent DS from coughing/puking up his entire feed everytime!

We're at least smiling (and Wiiing ) in our house now, but could do without this development. Spesh when the old magic juice is so blimmin precious!

hi could you try feeding at a different position? when my DD was poorly and BF her was a nightmare i tried sitting her up slightly so the mucus/snot wasnt running down her throat. it worked quite well actually and she reinstated her regular feeding iyswim

Are you dropping some saline drops down his nose before feeding? Or a really good steam (sit with the shower running for a few minutes) before hand to get rid of as much gunk as you can beforehand?

roll on the age when he can blow his nose - it all gets easier after that!

good idea on the steam... have never tried saline drops, how do they work exactly? It's pretty runny already TBH!

You can get the saline drops from the pharmacy - they come in a little dropper thing which you just use to squeeze a couple of drops in each nostril. They help to break down the caked up gunk (sorry TMI!) and let it run out so you can just sop it up with a flannel/tissue.

DD got her first cold when she was 3 weeks old and could have no other medication so saline drops were the only thing that helped - that and many sessions in the bathroom! If you don't have a shower, empty a kettle of boiling water in the sink which should produce enough steam.
