hi my ds2 is 12 months I feed him a few times a day and a couple of times through the night, increasingly over the past few days my nipples are sore when he feeds esp the right one and i am soo00o uncomfortable i take him off and want to feed from the left. we have had a good feeding relationship - I have had thrush i think before shooting breast pains as the symptom which doc treated. This does not feel the same.

I am not pregnant again nor has anything changed. my nipples look just the same and he is feeding as he was. Any ideas?

As I love feeding but am not enjoying it increasingly , thanks x

Check that your latch hasn't just got lazy - this happened to me as DD2 got bigger.

If you only have thrush on your nipples you won;t get the shooting pains that you had when it was in your milk ducts....are you nips white on the end after feeding?

I think his latch may have got lazy he is very rough with me

I do know what you mean but I think i just had to go back to basics with DD2 and we both had to make a bit more of an effort!

Yes, white nipple ends are a sign of thrush. For me Extract of Grapefruit Seed was the only thing that got rid of it. You can buy as Citricidal from chemists and dilute and apply and also take orally. I took Exspore supplement(bought online). GPs are often useless so be warned.

BTW if you still use a pump or a dummy and you do have thrush you need to use Milton to kill it. Same for your bras, stick some Citricidal in the washer.

Let us know how you get on with that lazy latch first though.
