Painful letdown

I've been exclusively breastfeeding my 7 week old although its been hard as I produce a lot of milk and have a fast let down so my baby chokes. For the past few days my letdown has been actually really painful, I have to stop what im doing and press on my boobs for a slight relief- is there anything I can do to stop this? Is it caused by anything in particular?

Sorry, I don't have advice for what you can do but I feel my letdown, I'd say uncomfortable, not painful but it seems worse when my boobs are more full so hopefully as your supply settles it will improve. I remember in the early weeks having so many different sensations, stabbing pains, chest pain etc but it has all calmed down. I am now into the fourth month of ebf. Hope things improve!
