hospital grade breast pumps for expressing

are they really good? Im trying to breast feed, with difficulty, my second new baby (first was a breeze) and am just getting over some of the hurdles. However with the first child I was unable to express using hand, manual and electric pump.

I read somewhere that the 'hospital grade' pumps you hire are best.

Any experience of this anyone? If so, any recommendations?
thankyou

I had an Avent Isis IQ duo and personally found it better than the Medela pumps in the hospital when ds3 was in SCBU. But it is expensive! A lot of MNers use the Ameda Lactaline and some have exclusively expressed using this pump for months on end so it is highly recommmended!

I used the Avent Isis. But, found expressing difficult second time around for qutie a while. I was very stressed all the time though and not very patient.

The Medela electric ones are what they have on the ward here.

I loved my Avent manual pump though - was much better for me than the Medela/ electric ones.

i hired one of the hospital grade ones fro local nct lady when bf'ing my first.

i thought it was a marvellous piece of machinery. v gentle and smooth adn absolutely the only way i managed to express at all (i managed to use a mini elcetric pump by the 3rd baby)

well worth a try, if you ask me.
