what a lovely video!!they should have something like that advertised in the daily tv slots. i didnt feel as if i was allowed to BF in public due to other peoples prejudices and ignorance so i feel this would be a valuable tool to use to educate the masses!!

I miss breastfeeding. I think it such a special thing to do, something that only you can do for your baby. I don't understand why people choose bottle at all.

I fed all over the place and had loads more good comments than bad. Although one woman (after giving her baby a bottle) turned to me and said "it's disgusting that you're doing that. So unnatural"

Jennypenguin, "I don't understand why people choose bottle at all" there are lots and lots of reasons why women bottle feed their babies. Some women want to breast feed but struggle because of lack of support from friends, relatives, Health Care Professionals, lack of information, underlying medical causes (in mother or in baby or both). Some simply do not like the idea of breastfeeding for many, many reasons (not least that they don't like the idea of nursing in public due to the degree that our society has sexualised breasts just for starters), there are many more reasons why women choose (or have the choice foisted on them) to bottle feed.

I used the word choose as in making a choice, not being unable to. I really feel for people who want to and can't.

And i just don't understand why anyone would choose having to get up in the night to heat bottle up, having to take bottles with you everywhere etc etc. Maybe i'm just lazy!

I find the 'formula is for pussies' bit at the front a little bit confrontationald and judgemental - the whole 'tribute to breasts' thing could have been said without critising formula milk.

It put me off the whole video.

i disagree Belgo. if you read the comments people have made, the guy that made the video, states that he's not criticising those who have a valid reason for FF, but he does say convenience is not a valid reason. i FF my ds1 and although i dont regret it i dont mind people putting FF mums down as i think some of us are just uninformed! currently still BF 9mp and intend on tandem feeding when LO arrieves.

i loved it. does anyone know if you can burn it onto disc so i can show my breastfeeding support mamas?

Unfortunately to me it still comes across as critising ff - which would be upsetting to a lot of people. I haven't read the comments, didn't know there were any, I feel like I haven't done my homework

lol belgo, didn't realise we were set any at this god forsakenhour! i can totally see where you're coming from but the overall video was fab, if you weigh it up i dont think that that bit matters!

It probably wouldn't matter to someone who has successfully bf, but it could be upsetting to someone who couldn't bf for what ever reason, and who, like me, doesn't think to read the comments

sory i still disagree Belgo, if they have a bvalid reason for not breastfeeding, then they'd still understand the benefitd of bf even if they did feel abit regretful over it. however i'm going to sound really naive and ignorant here, but isn't that their problem, why sohuld a very caring father and partner not put what he wants in a video for fear of offending people? we;re mean to be in a 'free' country so surely that doesn't matter? if people dont like it they shouldn't watch it, same as bf in public!
