I've just been watching In the Night Garden with DS 18 mo when, as soon as he saw Makka Pakka, he started asking for "Num!" and grabbing my top. Anyone else?

LOL at Crapper Crapper I told you there was something turd-like about him!

liath · 14/12/2007 21:48

Ooh, where do you get ITNG pyjamas from?

PMSL at makka pakka being a breast. He doesn't look well, though poor thing - those big circles round his eyes....

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 14/12/2007 22:14

now I swear I've seen some blue things that aren't pontypines but are blue and live in the other half of the semi-detached with some other ridiculous name...

DH swears I was on drugs or summat....

Anyone else?

And where's that thread with the Iggle Piggle video...

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 14/12/2007 22:18

here's the thread go to the Youtube link listed and enjoy...

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 14/12/2007 22:18

Or let's see if it works to go direct

LadyOfTheHollyAndTheIvy · 14/12/2007 22:22

Apparently, sorry if it's been done, but the whole series was filmed in one go, episode after episode, during the short spell of nice weather we had before it started getting miserable again.
Now, if you go to TNG, Macca's little cave & ravine is flooded and full of leaves....

LadyOfTheHollyAndTheIvy · 14/12/2007 22:23

By young peeps in the suita apparently.

LadyOfTheHollyAndTheIvy · 14/12/2007 22:23

argh!
suits*

ELF1981 · 14/12/2007 22:23

You are thinking of the Wottingers

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 14/12/2007 22:25

ELF! Wottingers! I knew I hadn't dreamed it... but why don't they ever come out? Do they have agoraphobia to add to Makka Pakka's OCD? Is this show a joke foisted on us by a renegade psychiatrist...?

ELF1981 · 14/12/2007 22:28

according to Wikipedia...

The Pontipines (red) and Wottingers (blue) are two families of ten tiny creatures (a mother and a father, plus four boys and four girls) similar to peg dolls, who live in adjacent semi-detached houses at the foot of a tree. The Pontipines appear in most episodes, while appearances by the Wottingers are rare. The Pontipines all dress in a very similar fashion to each other, as do the Wottingers. Each family sleeps in one room, their beds next to each other in two rows of five. The Pontipines are able to enter their home by flying down the chimney, as well as through the front door. They have no feet. It is notable that Pontipines enter the Pinky Ponk through a different door to all the other characters, and stay on a separate deck. The Pontipines and the Wottingers are animated using stop motion animation. Mrs Pontipine carries a pair of binoculars around her neck at all times, and she uses them to look for her children when they get lost. The Wottingers can be seen dancing at the end of some episodes, and feature in the episode "Wave to the Wottingers".

essanel · 14/12/2007 22:28

lol at psychiatrist creator of itng the blue wottingers do dance on the bandstand thingy below the pontypines when they all do the singing number......

bunnyhunny · 14/12/2007 22:50

i like the way they live in a semi!
I love ITNG. It seems quite old-worldy, similar in feeling to trumpton.

toria1982 · 12/07/2009 18:17

Oh the tombliboos are my daughter sfavourite and makka pakka.....although i agree OCD...problem! Upsy Daisy is a bit of a tart, snogging iggle piggle all the time and dragging her bed round after her. I want to see more of teh wottingers....the pontipines bore me. Also they are defintately not CGI, one of the tombliboos....tombliboo ooo i think, is a stunt man from angels and demons and casualty!

BouncingTurtle · 12/07/2009 19:38

DS is an ITNG fan. He does the hand circle thing at the beginning, so sweet.

Acoording to Wiki, all the characters except the Hahoos (CGI) and the Pontinpines & Wottingers (stop motion) are played by nutters people in costume.

DSS once had a bottle of bubble bath in the shape of Makka Pakka. His head was the lid. I screwed it on once and the head was facing backward - didn't look like a booby to me

Grendle · 12/07/2009 22:47

Can anyone tell me if there's any rhyme or reason to which episodes the little dance at the end happens in? Dd loves it and if she watches an episode that happens not to feature the dance then heaven help us...

FlappyTheBat · 12/07/2009 23:01

have just seen how old this thread is!!!

My dd1 was the same Grendle, so found the dance on YouTube which I used to play for her.

Luckily she is now 4 and no longer drags me up to do the dance with her

littlelamb · 12/07/2009 23:06

I don't know. But his little sponge looks like a diseased cervix

Dubbs · 13/07/2009 13:47

I friend of mine commented that the whole programme was based on boobs - you've just got to look at the Ninky nonk for an example!
