Medela breast pump help !

Hi all. Just purchased the Medela swing flex breast pump , used it for the first time and I'll give it a 1/10 the suction is very poor and I just feel like I threw my money out the window.
I had a look at the returns policy on their website & it states that they only accept returns if sealed & unused.
I understand that but I would still like some of my money back. This product is definitely not fit for purpose it does noting might as well hand express as the suction of this pump is useless.
Is there a way to get my money back ? Has anyone successfully returned a breast pump before ? Tia xx

I've not used a meleda but just wondering if it's just the suction that's the problem? Does it come with different flange options?

Hi OP! I used a Medela and they were brilliant. It’s unusual it’s not working well for you. I don’t mean to sound irritating but are you sure you’ve read the instructions and set it up properly? And is your breast positioned properly and the nipple free to move in the suction funnel bit? Maybe you need different phalange sizes?
One of my Medela pumps suddenly stopped working and I called Medela directly who replaced the pump free of charge within a day or two. The customer service was great and I’d really recommend giving them a call, OP.

I used this pump and the suction is definitely strong enough on it. So:

A) it's faulty
B) you haven't connected it right
C) you need to play around with the suction and speed settings to find what works best for you as everyone responds to different strengths/speeds for pumping

Have you plugged it in at the mains? I found this was better than just batteries. I also noticed it was weaker when the bits weren't clicked in together properly.

I did get anything the first time I used it but after a few goes and playing around I got good results! If you still get nothing I would record a video and send to them asking for help or a refund

How are you getting in today @mammasy?

mammasy · 28/10/2021 20:48

Thanks all for taking time to reply.
I've read through the instructions properly & even got my DH to have a look. I swear there's very little suction, nothing changes when I try to increase the level & nothing comes out maybe just a few drops 🤪
I'll send them an email as it might be faulty, hopefully they can do something about it.
I used the medela pump in hospital and thought it was very good but this one I've just purchased isn't great at all .. xx

I also had the swing and didn’t find it very good. I don’t know if you can return it. I rented the Medela Symphony, it’s the hospital grade one and you pay monthly
