Am currently giving one breastfeed in the morning, a bottle in the afternoon and a breastfeed at bedtime. Which breastfeed should I drop first, and how fast? Any tips? Thanks!

I always thought the anywayup cups were good for bf babies as they've got quite a good suck on them usually - my kids didn't have any problems with them at around 6-9 months ish. Although must confess that for ds2 I used an old anywayup cup to start with where the seal was slightly damaged and therefore easy to use.

just checked - tommee tippee easiflow are the ones that we found best - pink or yellor cups with handles and a green "spout" with a cap over it.

Thanks everyone - Bozza I tried her with the Magicup without valve this afternoon and she drained the cup!

I used the Avent ones, with a valve, but easy to suck, and she likes holding the handles and trying herself. I give her her water at meal from an open cup with handles. As for sterilising, well I'm afraid I don't bother. My view is that at 10 months she picks up all manner of things from the floor (last weekend she was trying to eat mud off the floor at the rugby club , so I feel a hot wash or dishwasher is sufficient. Also I have started to mix half formula and half full fat milk...she gets plenty of iron from other sources, and it still strikes me as odd to make milk from powder, so I aim to move fully to cows milk just before 12 months. Don't mean to offend

Not at all louloubelle, that's very helpful, thanks

I'm in similar position to Cockle but mines 9 mths. I work so love b/feeding at end of day. But getting a bit impractical and can't go out.

Not sure about stopping though as DD drinks NO milk/formula in day at all, just not interested in it. If she doesn't have milk in eve and morn then will have none - does that matter?

Flum - my DS1 was the same. I worked part time and he topped up with breast milk whenever I was there. He would also drink water. I made lots of milky food, semolina, custard, rice pudding, and yoghurts too (but make sure they are full fat and low in sugar - most seem to he horribly sweet- if you can get them used to plain yogurt with a bit of mashed fruit it is much better).

I breast fed until he was 12 months. After that he gradually drank a bit more milk - but still not much at 3.
