Last night due to a lack of sleep daze tinged with hysteria I finally managed to settle my youngest in her cot by leaning over the bars so far I was basically standing on my head, and then stuck boob in her mouth. I am calling it the breast feeding halfpike. I had a moment of triumph but staggered off down the hall feeling very dizzy so I may have to face the fact that its unlikely to be a practical long term solution. Discussing this with friend today and she admitted to once posting a boob through the cot bars, (which I considered but dismissed on basis of safety as daughter is very mobile and likely to latch on and wander off.) grimly telling her enquiring husband 'dont ask'. Any one else been extreme breast feeding lately?

that could be classed as a high risk sport and one which needs special insurance!!!

I'm LOL imagining you standing on your head in the cot!

lol - I used to bf i the car on long journeys with dd2 in the backward facing car seat, and me sat next to her in the back, with all seat belts on I hasten to add!

Ah yes. I did that a couple of times with DS on particularly tough nights... [ah, happy (?) memories...]

ROTFL...

Loving the 'posting' idea too...

My only remotely 'extreme' BF was with a blocked duct when I took the dubious advice to try and feed with baby's chin over the blockage. Which involved him on the floor and me leaning over upside down and naked from the waist up. Cue DH and DS1&2 at the door looking aghast (of course! why wouldn't they come home just at that moment...?)

cmotdibbler · 06/12/2007 12:18

I've done that one ! DH caught me changing DS and feeding him at the same time once.
DS has a nasty habit of wandering up when I'm on the loo and latching on.

When dd1 was small I actually had to climb into the cot with her a few times to settle her.

Lol - I used to do the car seat thing too Belgo. Oh, the joys . . . !

belgo · 06/12/2007 14:01

it certainly helped out on a few stressful car journeys Notquitechristmasyet!

LOL have also done the car seat thing and "dangle feeding" on all fours over ds when I had a blocked duct.

DS is 2 now and his mouth is just the right height so that if he's running about our bedroom in the morning, he can just run over for a sook without me having to drag him up into our bed.
