Because then you'd be a dribbling soaking bra head - like I was for six months. Now I still feed DD (13 months) but have small boobs which constantly feel empty but apparently are not.

lol id love to be a dribbling soaking bra head

although tell me its annoying to have wet breast pads in ...my are always bone dry

It's annoying to have wet breast pads in.

Why are you wearing them if yours are always dry? Not every woman dribbles/leaks when they bf.

Also, most babes feed for more than a few minutes.

I'm sure you're doing beautifully but remember... soggy breast pads...YUK!

I so understand where you're coming from RRD. The others from my antenatal group all had bounteaous breasts, even the one who was flat chested! And nice chubby babies who would suckle for 10 mins max then sleep for hours. Apart from the odd leak at night or when DD skipped a feed in the first few weeks I never had leaky boobs, my DD would stay on for hours, never sleep in the day (apart from at the breast) and she was a skinny mite, slow to grow. Oh, how I envied the others, I'd have done anything to have had soaked through breast pads and spurting forth boobs!

ruins your mattresses
be glad

francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2007 10:05

never had leaky breasts here as well, apart from the first few days with ds. never with dd. I was pleasantly surprised that, when dd was hospitalized at 5 days old and wouldn't latch to the breast, I manage to express 200 ml in 5 mins !

francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2007 10:06

(it was actually an awful time, but with hindsight I was surprised by my milk production)

Mossy · 04/12/2007 10:08

RRB, can see where you're coming from; never got engorged, never had that "ooh my boobs are like rocks!" feeling, only leaked a tiny bit and only in the very early days, slow to gain weight baby who never really sleeps... can never express more than about an ounce.

I tell myself I make just enough for my ds and there is none left over for anything else; my boobs are a very efficient production factory with no wastage.

robinredbreast · 04/12/2007 10:15

Ah good. I was really hoping it was just one of those moments and not a sadness

I used to squirt people... Wicked like that!

francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2007 14:28

I don't mind at all robin (I went out christmas shopping). It was nothing serious thank goodness. She was hospitalized because she had a high temperature and was lethargic and stopped latching on the breast. She was obviously tested for infections and meningitis and immediately put on antibiotics. It turned out she had an infection but it was viral and after a 3 days of constant sleeping and bottles she woke up and resumed b/feeding as nothing had happened . I was terrified though and with my hormones all over the place I cried for 4 days in a row .

francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2007 14:28

and I expressed like a machine
