Nightmare to get medicine into dd.......

DD 10months & teething really badly.

I don't want to sound like I'm plying my dd with medicine but lately when giving her calpol or medised via a syringe into the mouth she is a NIGHTMARE.

I try & be light hearted but she tends to spit it out, closes her mouth & slings her arms & head around.

I'm posting this on the bf as I still bf & she won't take bottle so I can't mix medicine with milk!

Need tips/advice on how to get her to take medicine nicely. I don't want to stress her out! She's no better taking it from a spoon either!

Please help!

Hi,

Might sound bit weird but you can get paracetemol suppositories. A friend has failed miserably to get liquid paracetemol into her LO and found them really easy to use. Once got past the initial strangeness!!

Would think have to go to GP for prescription/instructions tho.

Otherwise I try popping the meds in syringe into the cheeks rather than down the throat. Or mix it with food? Dont think there is any reason you cant mix it with something else she likes eating/drinking?

Good luck

dd hated the syringes but didn't mind taking it off a spoon so long as the spoon was turned round so that she could schlurp at it from the side. also we used to give her meds in the bath, less stress all round.
