is it as noisy as the mini eletric? still expressing daily and I think a double pump would work better...

Never used it, sparkly, I have the Avent double electric which I found great but it was very, very expensive. I know lots of MNers have used the Ameda Lactaline which is about the same price and found it very good, you can vary the speed as well as the suction which I don't think you can do with the Medela. Also, I think with the Medela pumps there can be an issue with milk backing up into the tubing. This can't happen with the Lactaline. You can also pick them up cheaply on ebay second-hand.

I can't believe the prices of some of the double pumps. I currently have a Medela and I find it very good at expressing my milk off, but I need a double one really and the double Medela is only £62 on ebay

Well, I wouldn't think it would be twice as noisy as the single pump and if you're happy with that you can't go too far wrong with the double version of the same thing. £62 is a very good price for a double pump.

The medela pump in the hospital was soooooo quiet!! Why the home ones are so noisy is beyond me!! lol! DH said tonight that they couldn't have made it any noiser if they tried lol

There's £5.00 off the lactaline here. It's still more expensive than the Medela but loads of MNers have sworn by the lactaline whereas the Medela is relatively new to the UK market so I'd say not that many people have used it yet.

sparkly, they probably deliberately make them more noisy in order that people will fork out for the quieter hospital grade ones to save themselves the embarrassment of the noise!
