HELP my little one keeps being sick

I'm hoping someone can help me...

My little boy is 12 weeks old and is formula fed (Kendamil) I had to stop b/f at 5 weeks as I couldn't produce his demand..

Sometimes every day or every other day before a feed he'll be sick and not just a little A LOT.

Drs have said it's reflux but it doesn't happen with every bottle...he usually has a few sucks either the first one in the morning or just before bed and will then throw up.

I've tried to explain to them he doesn't bring up wind easily...sometimes nothing at all throughout the day to the point his upper lip will go blue and he's screaming in pain with it and we really have to battle to get the wind out of him but again they've just said reflux!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and can suggest something? He's still gaining weight which is why I don't think the Drs are fussed but surely it's not right him holding his wind in to the point he's sick later because of it? He's absolutely fine in himself after being sick and will feed/bring his wind up really well after so just don't know if I just have to see if he grows out of it..

I've tried Infacol, Colief, Gaviscon, Cooled boiled water before a feed, Feed him upright and burp in all the suggested positions on the NHS website. We use MAM bottles too.

Sorry for all the information I'm just trying to cover everything and hope someone has some advice!

I'm hoping you can help me as I'm washing my duvet or scrubbing my sofa almost every day..

@Blondemummy94 I don't know if this will help, but worth a try!
My DD1 went through a phase of spectacularly throwing up her milk and I was really worried.
It was suggested to me to wind/burp her before her feed (not just after) which I did, and it seemed to work well.

I'm sure you'll get other suggestions - good luck x and Congratulations! Flowers

I think I didn't understand /read your post properly - apologies if I've not helped at all Blush

My DD was a nightmare for bringing up wind! She also has reflux (she’s 14 months and still has it) and I think having reflux does make it harder for them to bring up wind. It can also be a symptom of CMPA.

Only things that helped my DD bring her wind up better was a faster teat and making the milk really warm (almost hot, but obviously not hot to burn her throat). I find even now if I don’t make her milk warm enough she struggles to burp.

Thank you both for you replies! I've tried everything you've suggested and still had a sicky episode :-(

The warmer milk did help to get me some big burps but then after that it's like he knew what I was doing - I'm going to keep persevering and just hope he grows out of it and stay in touch with his HV.

Thank you again x

@Blondemummy94 is he bringing up the sick with a burp?

Blondemummy94 · 28/07/2021 21:05

No - it's like he's giving feeding cues around the time he's due a bottle so I'll offer it to him and he'll have a few sucks or a few oz and then throw up either the previous bottle whatever's left or what he's currently drank if that makes sense?
