My mum celebrated her 90th birthday recently and we had a family party. I made an album of photographs going back over the years which was a great hit with all of the family.

My daughter was there with her three wonderful children, who are the light of our lives and was feeding the youngest, my beautiful grand-daughter.

At the end of the party one of my cousins said to my DD and I, tht he was really moved as he had been in the company of my mum as she fed me, with me as I fed my daughter and now here was DD feeding DGD. We were all really moved and I was so proud that this is a tradition in our family.

My daughter has qualified as a peer-counsellor for breast-feeding and yet is never called in to support other mothers as the HV who organized it has moved on. I was really sad to read the comments on the other thread.

I'm afraid I was a shameless breast feeder in my time and fed my two everywhere we went, though I'm sure I flashed less of my boobs then than when I was out and about in my nightclubbing days! []blush

I just wanted to point out that there are BF supporters out there in the cafes and restaurants of the world; should we come up and say well done to counteract the miserable sods who complain?

I'm bumping this because I want to know, do you appreciate a positive comment or think 'oh, go away'?

Appreciate, every time, even though I've never really had anything but!

Personally I would have appreciated a positive comment when I was feeding out and about.

My LO is 11 months now so tends to only be morning and evening but if he's grumpy and wants a feed then I have no hesitation to do so, but now I guess feel people do/will look a little more. But I don't care.

I always give what I hope looks like an encouraging smile and nod to anyone I see feeding in public.

I think it's lovely - both to get a positive comment when out and about, and your own story! Happy birthday to your mum.

What a lovely post Earthymama

I have had a few lovely comments from people who breastfed themselves and I try and be the same when I see people feeding. Not all people are that accepting though.

Lovely story Earthymama

Oh I would love to get a positive comment about bfing.

Get lots of nice comments about the sling all the time (is a bit unusual round here) and it's really nice (makes up for some lads shouting out of a car window "get a f*cking pram one time) and ds laps up the attention!

So nice comments about bfing very very welcome.
