If you have a breastfeeding support group local to you, can you do Hunker a favour, please?

Please can you post details of it here

As much info as you can, please - and as accurate as poss - imagine the horror of getting a tiny baby ready, sore nipples throbbing, hauling your possibly still-lochia-exuding self to a breastfeeding support group that's actually on a Thursday, not the Tuesday you'd seen on the blog...

TIA

sorry to nitpick but I don't think Pruni meant 10.30 pm in hers

unless your bf groups are a bit more exciting than ours tend to be

kiskidee · 25/11/2007 13:43

do you still want the details of the group if, IMVHO it gives crap advice at times and the woman who runs it treats it like her little fiefdom?

Prunie · 25/11/2007 13:45

ARF
I cut-and-pasted that from their website
Silly prune

hunkermunker · 25/11/2007 13:48

LOL at 10.30pm - will edit post on blog.

Kiskidee - hmm, will ponder...and get back to you!

hunker I have been ringing all mine up to check if they are still correct as per their website
they are not
ah dont you just love the bf crew
I also got to hear some terrible stories about reduced/withdrawn funding and wholescale lack of support from the HA and HCPs
so thanks for that, what a cheery evening

hunkermunker · 26/11/2007 00:09

Ah, sorry, Harpsi. I've filled your personal statement for you on PBE's thread though, so that's the silver lining. Or something. No need to thank me

Shocking though, isn't it? Am v much enjoying raising awareness of it all though

OP posts:
DrBunsentheHarpsichordCarrier · 26/11/2007 00:12

yes it's shocking but I think I am a little jaded

I had a women only class this week of Career Types.
apparently SAHMs are all lazy and work shy and sit in cafes drinking coffee all day
and are boring and dependent with nothing to talk about.and their children all miss out because they only have adult company and don't mix with other children and it makes them clingy.
oh and did you see that programme about that woman who bf her 11 year old? revolting.

DrBunsentheHarpsichordCarrier · 26/11/2007 00:14

on the upside though, they did all talk about what a lovely TIme Off they would have on their mat leave and how they were going to have lots of time to do all those things they never have time to do now

hunkermunker · 26/11/2007 00:15

Dear God. What scintillating conversation. You can tell they use an office fax machine, it makes them positively shiny with wit

(Before anybody has a go at me for being WOHMist, I'm not, I'm being rudeist )

OP posts:
DrBunsentheHarpsichordCarrier · 26/11/2007 00:16

I know I had a fixed grin like this

hunkermunker · 26/11/2007 00:17

Am going to email you a question...

OP posts:
DrBunsentheHarpsichordCarrier · 26/11/2007 00:18

they always say that about Time Off
it is very hard not to roll about laughing, I can tell you

hunkermunker · 26/11/2007 00:19

I think back wistfully to my pre-baby days. I'd love to go back and...well, slap myself round the face and go "look, appreciate your TUMMY, fgs!".

hunkermunker · 26/11/2007 00:50

Just to say, I hope people don't mind if I edit their comments to include more info if I google it? I do, as I say, have Big Plans for this info, so if I do it as I go along, it'll save me doing a big search for stuff later.

ProjectTartanArmyIcarus · 26/11/2007 01:51

hmmmm. i have never been to the ones near me. I suspect I would scare them. .

babieseverywhere · 26/11/2007 09:07

QUOTE do you still want the details of the group if, IMVHO it gives crap advice at times and the woman who runs it treats it like her little fiefdom? UNQUOTE

Actual I like the idea of a rating system to be updated as twats staff members leave and replaced by fantastic pro breastfeeding staff (I hope)

hunkermunker · 27/11/2007 09:39

I like the idea of a ratings system too! Unfortunately, the blog's not got that capability... One day, maybe!

Till then, are there any positives you can mention, Kiskidee? So something like "really good coffee and biscuits, but I have found the bf advice can be a bit hit and miss"?
