Is it normal for your hormones to go funny and make you feel a bit despressed when you stop BF?

DD is 15 months and I dropped her last BF 9 days ago. For the first few days I was still producing milk and becoming engorged. Now it seems to have dried up. However this weekend I felt really anxious and weepy and a bit depressed. I have not felt like this for one minute in the 15 months since I had DD, although I have a history of anxiety and was worried about my risk for PND.

Could this mood change be hormone related? Did anyone else feel despressed and funny when they stopped BFing?

I definitely felt strange and weepy when I stopped BFing. Sure I read somewhere about hormones going haywire when BFing is stopped but I don't know any scientific fact.
