Stopping exclusive pumping - help?

I have exclusively pumped for my 6m old since birth and i want to stop.

He is being weaned onto formula and i am down to 2 pumps a day but really want to get down to 1 pump now, the only thing is i am in so much pain when i go longer than 12 hours without pumping i dont know how i am going to be able to drop it.

Ive had mastitis in the past and really don't want to get it again 🥴

Has anyone any advice please?

You need to be careful if you still want to pump pump milk. But overall the way to reduce is to reduce the time pumping. So still pump to relief pressure. So say you currently pump for 20 mins cut to 15 for a few days, then 10 and so on.

Yes to reducing the time spent pumping by 1-2 mins each day.
