Bottle refuser

Been exclusively breastfeeding my baby for 10 weeks now
Tried to introduce a bottle at about 7 weeks once a day as I was so bloody exhausted from it all - plus I’d like the option of leaving her from time to time!! She took the bottle from my husband eventually after trying a few times - but was never keen and now we ate back to her not entertaining the idea at all!

We try every single day - we’ve tried various bottles, different milk temperatures, breast milk, formula, - she just will not take it!

Any ideas? Have we left it too late? Is there any point pursuing this still!

I’m hoping to go and get my hair done next week - the appointment will be 3-4 hours id imagine - thinking I might have to now cancel it!

Also was planning a night out for my birthday (dinner and a few drinks with my husband and a fee friends)
Not looking likely now!

I know it’s not the end of the world but I feel so trapped sometimes and it makes me wish I never breastfed at all

No advice but following. I totally understand how you feel. My LO is 3 weeks old and I'm looking introduce a bottle soon. I love BF but I don't know how I will manage not being able to leave her for more than 2 hours for months. And people I say that to in real life make me feel guilty. I've got 2 KIT days in July and I'm so anxious that she won't be taking a bottle by then.

Never got any of mine to take a bottle. But go get your hair done, they can hang on or your DH can let them sip from an open bottle

Mine (4 months) is the same. Took them fine early on (although he only bottle fed v occasionally) but since he’s been teething (he’s an early teether) I think the teat hurts his gums. We just feed him from a cup if I need to go out and he wants milk, might be a option? We use the little baby cups the size of a shot glass that you can get on Amazon - sounds mad but he gulps it down Grin Cup feeding is practiced in some cultures and at the end of the day if they’re getting fed it really doesn’t matter how they do it

I plan on just feeding him from a sippy cup from 6 months if I’m not around

Both of mine were bottle refusers, and trust me we tried EVERYTHING! One evening, when DD1 was around 4 months old, I got the opportunity of a lifetime to go hear one of my absolute heroes speak at a downtown hotel. DH fed DD1 her bedtime milk from a medicine dropper 3mL at a time! It wasn’t efficient, but he could make it work in a pinch and I could therefore get out every now and then. When DC2 started nursery at 6 months, the first day he had to take milk from a spoon (!), but then we were able to transition to a sippy cup. Both kids were on-and-off ok with sippy cups from about 5 months.
