Posted this in a different message (see below) but assumed you'd all already seen and signed. Seems not so please sign this petition which calls for more scrutiny anbd ethical assessment of parenting programming on TV. Stimulated by the awful Bringing up baby on Channel 4 which if you didn't see it included terrible out of date advice, was pretty anti-BF, but far worse inflicted this as an 'experiment' on vulnerable new parents and non-consenting babies...
I was furious and wrote lots of complaints. Seems lots of others objected to. You never know this petition might make a difference... Links in copied post below:

I hadn't joined MN when this series showed but was F*ing furious about the evil witch Verity on it. So much so I wrote to Channel 4 to complain and to the Guardian. Pointed out that in my field (university research) we'd never get away with such an experiment since our Ethics Committee wouldn't allow it.
Now I've just found out (sorry if I'm behind the times here! ) that there is a campaign to try to get parenting programmes scrutinised by an ethics committee and there's a petition at 10 Downing St to try and do this: petitions.pm.gov.uk/parentingshows/
