Breastfeeding help

Hello

New to breastfeeding, have a 6 day old baby and a toddler. Toddler I couldn't successfully breastfeed due to a massive PPH so I always told myself I would give it my best shot this time.

I'm struggling but trying not to give up, I'm struggling with the fact I'm so absent from my toddler and I feel so bad being stuck with baby constantly that I can barely pay him any attention.

Has anyone had success with breastfeeding in a sling? If so which one? I'm not sure if that would give me more freedom to then be more hands on with my toddler? X

Hi, can you ask your midwife to come and show you how to feed in a sling? I had my midwife round three times to help with breastfeeding (in May so with the same COVID regulations as now).

It does get easier I promise, you and the baby are learning how to feed now but it will be second nature soon. If you have Facebook follow the Breastfeeding Network and there and someone will be able to help.

I can guarantee you’re doing better than you think you are and it does get easier! Flowers

I haven't been able to feed in a sling. I can empathise with the guilt you feel towards your older child when you're so consumed with a new baby. I can tell you that it will get better and soon breastfeeding should be much easier than formula would be.
Do you have a partner at home? Or a family member who can help?
I felt so emotional and guilty for the first 2 weeks after ds2 was born. I cried my eyes out one night wondering what I'd done and feeling so bad for my older child.
Ds2 is almost 4 months now and it's great.
