Post weaning anxiety?

Wondering if anyone has found themselves feeling anxious etc after stopping breastfeeding. Breastfed for over 3 years and stopped a couple of months ago but getting lots of waves of panic, and PMT seems a lot worse than usual. If anyone experienced this how long did it last? Looking online some people are saying just a few weeks but wondering because I fed for longer will it take my body longer to get back to normal?

Hopeful bump so I know how long this is likely to last before I feel like me again Sad

I think it took me a couple of months at least before I started settling down and I was either PG or BFing for almost 6 years. Hope it settles down for you soon.

I know this thread is a few months old now but I was wondering how you are getting on, OP? I’ve just stopped BF my 2yo and I’ve started having panic attacks for the first time in years. Just wondering if things got better and if so, how long it took?

Hi @La12. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling that way. Sad I spoke to the doctor not long after I posted here and I ended up getting anti depressants which has really made a huge difference to me. From doing my research about post weaning anxiety it does seem like it can last for a while especially if you've fed for an extended period of time so I decided I wanted to give the anti depressants a try and they've helped so much.
