Mine both b'fed until 6 motnhs ish so not much use before then. However I used the same ones fro both kids so no not imho.

well mine were used for dd until she stopped having them and for ds(he's now 7 months) I have changed the teats but have not replaced the bottles.

(am because I have no idea what leeching is)

Nip · 07/11/2007 13:01

my DS is 18mo and we are still using the same bottles (different teats though!)

I dont think its a problem

Egg · 07/11/2007 13:04

I think you are advised to change them every 3 or 6 months (can't remember though...). DS was bf until three months although I did express so used bottles from early on, and we then used only bottles until 12 months and I never changed them, apart from moving from weeny ones to bigger ones. Once he moved to cups I did throw them all out and am buying new for my babies due in Feb. Did change teats more often, as others have said.

I think they are ok as long as they don't look damaged.

Be careful that you don't use anything with antibacterial agent in (spray, washing up liquid), I used to antibac the area where my bottles sat, and they cracked on the bottom. When I rang Avent they said that was the reason why.

Egg · 07/11/2007 19:36

Yes i realised after using fairy anti bac washing up liquid on mine that they advise in the instructions not to use anything anti bac. Mine never cracked mind you...

the anti bac thing is VERY interesting girls!!

thanks tons for the advice

still wonder how much plastic does leak considering the amount they get boiled!
