Extended BF'rs - did you go straight back to a 28 day cycle?

Hiya,
Reason for question is I'm pregnant and LMP was Sep 4th but it was also my only period since July 05 (DD is 18 months). Just wondered what everyone else's experience was. Were you like clockwork straight away or was there a patchy phase first? Should I just treat LMP as normal and count from there or is there sufficient doubt to make it worth having a dating scan?
TIA!

Well mine came back at 9 months, but were a bit patchy at first, then settled as dd started to feed less. I can still have a long cycle occasionally if dd increases her feeds.

Since you aren't going to be more than a few weeks out, I'd prob wait, assuming that you get a 12 week scan as standard.

Mine were clockwork right away.

Mine came back at 4 monthsd (BF until 22!) but were quite irregular for a while.

Congratulations btw

Mine came back at 9 months and were virtually abck to normal right away -- maybe a day or two out but nothing major. But I think based on women in general there's enough doubt to make it worth having a dating scan.

BTW, I recommend checking out Adventures in Tandem Nursing: Breastfeeding During Pregnancy and Beyond by Hilary Flower -- I've found it really useful when breastfeeding while pregnant.
