Hi, I'm quite new here. Have posted before on a few threads, but this is the first one I have started. So please be patient if I don't get the terminology quite right!

Dd2 is now 11 weeks and I have been exclusively breastfeeding her, pretty much on demand. On average she goes for 2.5 hours-4 hours between feeds. As far as I can tell, she doesn't favour any particular side, and I try to alternate fairly consistently. However the right breast is engorged fairly often, especially first thing in the morning. This is completely unrelated to how many times I have fed during the night (usually 11pm and 3am if it's been a good night). By the morning it is rock hard and significantly bigger than the left side. I always give her a good feed on that side to make it more comfortable. I have tried to avoid "overfeeding" on that side or even expressing as I assume that will just cause even more milk to be produced. Any advice welcome. btw can't work out if "nork" is mn word for breast and/or nipple?!

hi onepiece
congrats on your newbie!

i am no expert and hopefully someone else wil be long to help out.

i get engorged really quickly and was advised to use most engorged side for 2 feeds to then make sure it is well drained.
good luck!

A cold savoy cabbage leaf in your bra - really brought the swelling down for me.
