6mo has six teeth - and USES them on me! Any ideas ....?

She really does nip hard - and sort of grinds her top and bottom sets together. I try not to shriek but really it is impossible. Any ideas, ladoes?

I know they say not to but I couldn't help but yelp! DD would only really do it when she was really tired, I would offer it again and she would clamp down then kind of roll my nipple, I guess like you describe. It didn't go on for long. I hope someone comes up with some practical suggestions for you.

What I do is say "No" very firmly, then take the boob away for a few minutes (or seconds, depending on how insistent DS is). It's gotten to the point, after much repetition, that he'll look at me kind of surprised, then when I give him the boob back, he doesn't bite. Hope that helps.

DD with six teeth! Well done little one! Mine is working on all four top ones at once at the moment, though just the side left is in, so we're calling him "snaggle".

This worked for me: gently push her head into your breast when she bites. It makes her unlatch and she'll soon get the message.

Ds was a biter but he stopped doing it once he got used to the teeth. I also got very aware of the cues (usually came at the end of a feed) and got good at unlatching him before he started to chew..

right one thing i really want to know, is how on earth you ladies manage to push your boob right into the face of a biting baby. the pain immedicately makes me pull away . i cant do it and i've tried. dd2 who is 9 months old loves a good chomp .

I know what you mean bookthief about trying to get them off. They say to get your baby off, you have to gently slip your finger in the corner of their mouth more like use both hands to pry her jaws open! DD would just suck my finger in too!
