Ok - bit of a long shot - but does anyone know of anyone who might have a double electric pump in the CHESHAM/AMERSHAM area??

too long a story to go into here, but a friend of a friend has been royally fucked up by High Wycombe hospital (her 24 hour old baby was give 43mls of formula by bottle ) and now needs an electric pump. i'm trying to hire one for her from the NCT but not having much luck so far, so if anyone has one, i'd be most grateful.

Medela (www.medela.co.uk) hire out hospital grade pumps they can courier to you. Not cheap but pretty effective- have tried it.

Many babies will go back to the breast even if they have been bottle fed. I know several people who have done this and my own LO had to have quite a few bottles of EBM but got back to BF.

Everyone is different though of course.

hi davidsmom - thanks, we've managed to hire one from the NCT in Watford!! i know babies go back to the breast after having a bottle, it's just the fact that the mw's gave the lo a bottle without asking the mother first, and without advising her that it could lead to nipple confusion... twunts.
