Cow and gate anti reflux causing constipation

My 3 week old has reflux and health visitor suggested we used the anti reflux milk. We started using cow and gate anti reflux have been on it about 5 days and it has worked well for his reflux he is no longer sick however he is now in pain with constipation.

He is struggling to move his bowels and when he does they are firmer or pellet like.
We have tried giving him cooled boiled water but he just keeps choking on it.

Has anyone had the same problem with this milk? Wondering do we go back to the normal one and put up with the reflux or if we stayed anti reflux but changed brand would that help?

He's not choking on water he's gagging

You can go back to the old milk and try something from the GP for reflux (gaviscon)

Or try a different anti reflux milk

Constipation is quite common with anti reflux or comfort milks

Try keeping him upright after feeds for half an hour
Tilt the cot mattress 30° may held
