well, my ds is 12.5 mths, and down to 2 feeds: one first thing in morning and one last thing at night. he seemed less interested generally over last few days. today he has rejected both of them! and about a week or two before i was going to drop one of them.
has he heard me talking about it and wanted to get in there first?
whatever, i should be delighted, well, i am delighted, but silly ass that i am im having a little weep. i have cried at every dropped feed so far. am thinking of having a little celebration tea for me, dp, and the boy when i do it completely, to say hurrah to us all for a years bf. is that just my hormones being a bit nuts or have i always been a sentimental fool?

No, I was booing the other night at the prospect of stopping, too

Mad, isn't it? I talked about it on here and it made me feel a lot better

Well done for making the year!

Oh I cried when I stopped feeding the dd's even though it was my decision at 12 and 13 mths. They didn't fuss at all but I mourned it and I am still jealous of other people breastfeeding their babies. On the up side it was very liberating too.

I was far more upset when I stopped bfing then DD2. It was ceratinly at least partly due to my hormones. After a couple of weeks I felt fine, and so will you

When I say liberating, I didn't feel I had missed anything at the time I was feeding but suddenly dh could put the dd's to bed if I needed to be somewhere and it was a revelation

exactly the same here....dd is 13months and has almost stopped.

i feel very emotional about my baby growing up

you know what, its kind of nice to be so sentimental anyway
and i am so pleased we managed so long cos we had such a rough raw start, 6 agonising weeks of pain and crying and frustration. think we deserve a celebration!
