UP TO 7 DAYS!!! Sorry for shouting but am fed up of the UK having no idea of bm storage!

StrawberryMartini · 20/10/2007 20:08

It's up to 10 hours at room temp.

Up to 6 months in a chest freezer.

Oh sorry. NHS website says 24 and breast pump instructions say 48. If its up to 7 days then I can relax!

dont fancy feeding it to my baby after 5 or 7 days - have cleaned out bottles from that amount of time and it doesnt smell great. think i'd stick to 48 hours.

Milk is pretty good at telling you when it's no good but 3-5 days should be fine.

At the back of the fridge rather than in the door is best as the temperature is steadier there.

Kellymom and La Leche League say 8 days at back of fridge. But if you have a lipase problem your milk can go off quicker.
