Lansinoh is supposed to be the business, but £10 a go! Can you hand express? Might be more gentle than the pump?

puppydavies · 17/10/2007 22:02

moist healing is most recent advice - lansinoh worked a treat for me.

MyTwopenceworth · 17/10/2007 22:02

I read rubbing with breast milk was supposed to sooth and heal.

There was also some lotion from mothercare that was good (but my info is 7 years old)

MyTwopenceworth · 17/10/2007 22:03

maybe not heal, prob just sooth.

I'm no help at all.

lansinoh. sgk have you spoken to a bf counsellor yet? i have been thinking of you and hope you can get proper support to do what you want to.

trixyortreatmalixy · 17/10/2007 22:07

Jelonet or other dressings for moist wound healing are good. Don't let the split dry out.

sparklygothkat · 17/10/2007 22:11

can't hand express, i have some purelan 100, it says it contains lanolin, will that help?

Kellymom has the wet healing info
I took painkillers and just fed on the duff side (pumping made it worse), realise this may not be an option for you

I used Kamillosan and also took some stuff for thrush
Doc gave me the Kamillosan on prescription

eemie · 17/10/2007 22:17

Lansinoh.

Worth 10 x the price

Worked a treat for me. Hope you heal up soon.

fishie · 17/10/2007 22:18

try to get lansinoh, on prescription if necc. other stuff isn't as good (i use boots rubbish nipple cream for putting on ears when hair dying)

puppydavies · 17/10/2007 22:19

lansinoh is just lanolin, sounds as though purelan is prolly pretty much the same. use after every feed, don't remove before next feed. hope it helps.

sparklygothkat · 17/10/2007 22:25

it says its 100% lanolin. came free with my pump.

am seeing the breast feeding counsellor on friday fishie.
