Aptamil pepti 1 - how to tell if baby still reacting

So my little one is 3 months old and since birth has had bad mucousy nappies on and off, constipation, terrible wind, rashes on his face after drinking, extremely unsettled and inconsolable crying, reflux and spitting up.

After being fobbed off for ages we’ve finally been prescribed aptamil pepti 1.

Initially he seemed much better however it’s been almost 2 weeks now and the mucousy nappies are still appearing and he still gets a rash after a bottle. In himself he was a lot better, less crying and not as windy but for the last day or two he’s been back to crying quite a lot and his tummy has been bad again.

I’m at my wits end, does this mean he doesn’t have cmpa/cmpi? Or could he just need a different formula? I don’t know what else it could be at this point.

When he was born he was on normal aptamil and had terrible problems so we swapped to HIP, then cow & gate anti reflux which was the worst yet and finally now pepti.

It seemed to be working for a week or so so I’m just really confused ! 😩

That still contains milk proteins although they have been broken down. You might need a different formula with no milk proteins

Have you tried sma alfamino?

Ellax · 16/11/2020 13:01

It’s available on prescription and is suppose to be the top top one for allergies and intolerances above the aptamil pepti 1 my Pediatrician said. If you like I could post you one as I was given a massive batch when I went to pick up the prescription x

Ellax you really shouldnt be offering prescription milks to other people. It should only be used under medical supervision.

@reesewithoutaspoon

You can order it online it’s just very expensive and given that I have an abundance of it I thought I’d offer a tin. I really hope that’s ok with you your majesty x
