Help! Why is my normally milk hungry 7 month old now only taking limited bottles of milk?

I am not joking, he could drain a 7oz bottle in seconds! Since he has had a bug - sickness, high temp, awful nappies etc plus cough / cold and two teeth coming through (it never rains but it pours!) he has been refusing milk to the point I am astounded. He was on 3 7oz milks with 3 solid meals a day. He is still good with solids, but I am lucky to get 2-3 oz per bottle down him at the moment. Any ideas anyone? I have been adding milk to all solids - including beef casserole to try and increase his intake as I know they are suppose to have about 20oz per day.

How long ago was he ill? Could he have more teeth coming through? Mine go through stages of not really eating very much and then eating everything in sight.

I've been through a very similar thing with my nearly 6 month old.

On the basis of my experience, I'd say ride it out and it'll get better. My daughter's thing lasted for a week or so but now she's pretty much back to normal. No idea what it was, but it was pretty weird!

hi, my son is under a dietician and we have to get his 20oz down him every day!

The tips she gave me were........make rice pudding and custard using his formula (which he gets once or twice a day, 8oz formula makes 2 portions of pudding or custard) and use white sauce made from formula, or just add formula to his meals.

Also he gets a snacky lunch which he feeds himself followed by a pudding so he drinks more milk mid afternoon....

Hope this helps x

Thanks all. Yes, rice pudding and custard with formular seem a good idea. He's been ill for about 6 days now - although just remenants of the cough and cold. He's got 2 teeth but I guess more could be coming through. He has just had about 3oz in his weetabix this morning. Will keep persevering x
