Article in today's Times about his campaign for breast-feeding.

What a decent chap. Always wanted to know, though, what is "dandling"?

DrNortherner · 13/10/2007 11:07

Bit odd that a teenge boy should front a breast feeding campaign though isn't it?

ajandjjmum · 13/10/2007 11:09

Isn't his mum a midwife?

ShesAWaterfall · 13/10/2007 11:10

actually it makes perfect sense for him to front the campaign...

he's a teenage boy who appeals to teenage girls, who are statistically much less likely to breastfeed than older mothers...

perhaps he'll succeed in getting people to listen where more conventional figures have failed

awww.. bless him

duchesse · 13/10/2007 12:07

Dandling is, I believe, to sit a small child on one's knee and jig them. As one does.

In the article they mention that his mum is a midwife and breastfeeding campaigner. What a lovely boy though- how many 19 year olds do you know who are so willing to embrace their mothers' causes?

andiem · 13/10/2007 12:12

I thought this was fab article and it is really good to see him willing to put his name to bf

scarybee · 13/10/2007 12:19

I have always loved young Theo (in a motherly way you understand) and this just confirms my feeling that he is a thoroughly nice boy. I hope my DS grows up to be so delightful

kiskidee · 13/10/2007 13:59

oh, my, he looks sexy in that photo!

Tiggiwinkle · 13/10/2007 14:03

It's a great thing for him to do

unknownrebelbang · 13/10/2007 14:08

Great thing for a young popular fella to do.

DaisyWhoooo · 13/10/2007 16:41

at breastfeeding for 3 months saving the NHS £35 million in treating gastroenteritis

Bumperlicious · 13/10/2007 17:52

Awww bless! £35 million though...?

edam · 13/10/2007 18:03

Seems like a nice lad. Well done him - and his mum.

vole3 · 13/10/2007 18:24

I followed the link from the article to this site and have treated myself to a t-shirt. Shame I'm going to have to pull it up to feed DS

Poohbah · 13/10/2007 20:43

Good for him, in fact very good for him, great actually, he a bit sexy aswell....hmmmm

islandofsodor · 14/10/2007 23:04

OMG, I never knew Theo Walcott was Lynn Walcott's son. She is pretty famous herself in her field, I used to be on an email group with her.

moondog · 14/10/2007 23:08

He came to the last Association for Breastfeeding mothers conference with his sister and niece. Good lead eh??

(Never heard of him before that but still..if it makes people think again.)

SharpMolarBear · 15/10/2007 09:35

Didn't have a clue who he was but I think it's fantastic, if it can help teenage boys (and girls) to feel that bf is normal.
