Does your LO still have milk at 15 months in the early morning?

I am currently planning to stop bf my DS1 who is 15 months. He has one bf when he wakes up at about 6am. What I need to know is whether he needs milk at this time of morning or whether it is just habit. If he does need milk then I will drag myself out of bed to get him a cup of milk no problem but if most lo are fine til breakfast then I can have a lie in!

Mine had a glass of milk about 30 mins after he woke up (and still does at 22 months) which is about 7am then breakfast around 8am. It depends what time you make breakfast and when he last ate.

My DS is also 15 months. He wakes around 7am and has breakfast soon after (weetabix or porridge) then has a cup of milk before his morning nap and then another cup of milk before bed at 7pm

oh and he has a drink of water as soon as he wakes up. I'm always thirsty when I wake up and so is he!

my dd would sometimes have a bf in the morning at that stage but she started preferring a cup of milk leaving bf for bedtime and that was dropped too (more or less)

Thanks everyone. I think my plan will be a drink of water at 6am, a cup of milk when we go downstairs at about 7am followed by breakast at about 8am. Hopefully we won't have too much upset first thing!

My DS (15 months) has a BIG drink of milk (8-9oz) as soon as we go downstairs (we usually play on the bed for a bit first) so maybe 30 minutes after waking - then we have breakfast about 30-45 minutes later.

Like Ruby said, I think it is like my glass of cranberry juice that I have to have first thing every morning - no different really.

my dd, 15 months still has a breastfeed early morning. we still co-sleep, so it's usually just on waking up. someimes she has a feed and then nods back off for a bit.
