I'm sure someone will come along now... to help them along- how old is your baby?

CarrieG · 18/10/2004 00:12

You shouldn't need to, surely?

jampot · 18/10/2004 00:12

as often as is required I would think - i always offered mine bottles of water if they were thirsty

pixiefish · 18/10/2004 00:15

washerwoman · 18/10/2004 00:17

she is 6 weeks - i have been giving her 2fl oz every few days when she is crying and i cant find a reason - or if she hasnt had a poo for longer than 2 days, but then i started thinking, maybe i am supposed to give her some every day and worrying that i am starving her of water - but no-one has told me what to do and now i am panicing!!

jampot · 18/10/2004 00:23

cool boiled water cant harm her and maybe what she needs instead of a filling bottle

washerwoman · 18/10/2004 00:26

thats true - i suppose the most it can do is make her wee more?!!

Don't panic washerwoman- try giving her some water inbetween feeds if you want to. You're giving her fluids in the milk so she won't go without- in the hot weather babies do need to drink more but if you're in the uk it's cold so no need. Don't worry too much about it
